ABOUT ME
I am a misplaced Texas teacher thriving in Alaska!
Hello and welcome to my teaching portfolio page.
My name is Christina Garza and I am from Dallas, Texas. Most of my family still lives there, but I took a magnificent job in Alaska. One of the most important things in my life is my pets. I have two dogs, named Mac and Missy. My classroom also has a class pet named Trike, she is a bearded dragon who only has 3 feet. My hobbies include painting, and cooking. Cooking food was a path I have learnt to further embrace now I am living in Alaska. If you haven't had fresh coho salmon taken from the ocean and put directly on the grill... you are missing out. This is my second year teaching in Richard Johnson Elementary School, in Metlakatla Alaska. This school year (2021-2022) will be my 4th year teaching. My classroom has evolved over the past few years due to COVID, and I have taken a fair amount of time in implementing digital learning into my classroom. I put my all into everything I do, and I can say with confidence that my heart is in my classroom walls. This year my class will be filled with fun and adventure constantly. We will focus on setting goals, both personal and academic, and figuring out how to achieve them. Together we will achieve our goals! |

My leadership style will remain the same as servant and transformational. I still believe that my role as a leader will be to serve my building with my whole heart, and to help transform the building into a safe environment for all inside.
